Things often go wrong when you go bikepacking. It’s just something you have to work around, and it’s all part of the adventure. This one bikepacking item has saved me multiple times, and I couldn’t resist posting about it.
Without further ado, let’s get started telling you all about this bikepacking item and why it’s way more helpful than you might think, and might really help you on your future adventures.
For the record, I have not been sponsored to write this post. I purchased this bikepacking item myself and have had it for ages. I have included an affiliate link, so if you decide to use one, I’ll receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

The WARSUN DC08 Swivel Flashlight
The Warsun DC08 is a small, multifunctional light that I purchased a while ago and added to my kit. It has come in handy for the price and, surprisingly, saved me multiple times while out commuting and on adventures.
The Warsun DC08 Functions
Let’s run through the functions of this light first before we go anywhere. Here’s what it can do.
Front Lighting
The first point to mention is the powerful front light with twin LEDs. You get four modes: bright, low beam, and flashing. A cheap light with a wide beam, and I have used it confidently as a backup when my front light has failed.
Rear Lighting
The rear light function is basic, but it works. It includes a white light, a blue light, a red light, and a flashing red-and-blue function. The red light is the only one I have used, and it’s effective as a backup.

USB Charge Port
The light itself has a USB charge port. Given its size and weight, the battery capacity is limited so that you won’t get a full charge. However, in an emergency, it will provide enough to get you out of trouble.
Magnets
The light also includes magnets, which let you attach it to lamp posts or other structures to help you repair your bike, and they also help keep metal screws secure while you are working on a roadside repair.
Clip
The clip is perfect for unique mounting. Paired with cable ties, I have attached it to my handlebars, seat post, bike cables, computer mount, and even stuck it to the rear of my car before.

Ways This Light Has Saved Me
I can’t believe I am writing this section, haha! This light has saved me in so many ways. Here’s what you need to know.
- Front Light Broke – Replaced it with a new one.
- Rear Light Broke – Replaced it with the light!
- Out Of Charge Phone Navigating – Quick Charge!
- Lost Bolt In Grass – Used the magnet to find it!
- Bike Repairs In The Dark – Attached to a lamp post to see puncture repair.
A Final Note
As a very experienced bikepacker, you come across items that serve as a great backup, and this is one. I highly recommend carrying a Warsun light for its compact size and light weight. Honestly, mine has been worth its weight in gold.
