TikTok Cycling: Weird And Wonderful Stuff We Bought for Under $3!

There are some wonderful places to buy cycling and bikepacking gear and some amazing bargains to be had. Unfortunately, on the other side of things, there’s also a lot of crap out there. Everyone wants to make a buck and sell to the huge market we have for cycling. What about TikTok Cycling shop?

My wife recently told me about something called TikTok shop and how you can get some awesome stuff very cheap from there. I thought, why not browse and buy some cycling stuff for a laugh? So I did!

Before we go any further, it’s important to mention I won’t be adding links, and I don’t earn anything from you buying these products. As a site, we don’t feel the need to monetize just yet until we have to. These were not gifted either.

Loading Up The Tiktok Cycling ShopBasket

When it came to loading up the basket, I decided to go for the cheapest, most interesting items I could find for cycling and bikepacking. Surprisingly, each item was less than $3, £2.50 UK money (Free Shipping). Spoiler, some were amazing, and some were awful! Here’s what we got!

The Good TikTok Cycling

Let’s start with the good and finish with the awful. Here are some items we were very impressed with for such a low cost.

Double Headlamp

A LED Headlamp from TikTok Cycling.

The first item we were really impressed with was the double headlamp! This came in at $2.50, and honestly, I can’t understand how they make any money at all. This headlamp is excellent, and I hate to say it will be on my bikepacking adventures with me in the future.

It has two LED lights, a small closed beam, and a high-power LED bar. It’s very bright and is USB-chargeable. The strap is comfortable, and it weighs next to nothing. It will be amazing as a backup light and a nighttime work light.

For the price of $2.50, this is incredible, and even if I get one single season out of it, I can see myself buying a few more. It’s light and bright and has great value. It would cost $15 for the light alone in a UK shop and $3 for postage. Crazy value!

Multi Colored Flashing Rear Light

A rear bike light that can go red and blue.

The next excellent product that I liked was the rear light. I needed a backup light anyway, so this could be ideal, but it has a cool function that got me laughing. This light isn’t just red like a typical rear light. It flashes blue as well, which is a cool feature.

As a rear light, it looks pretty good and is very bright. I am still determining the runtime, but they say about 12 hours on flashing. The unique selling point of this light is that it can flash blue alongside red, almost like other popular road lights.

I’m not sure why you would need this, but alone, it’s a pretty cool rear light. I like it, and would make a good backup light in case my high-end one ran out or broke. The multi-colored lights could be a funny joke while night riding with friends.

Arm Pouch

A cycling arm pouch.

The arm pouch was originally in the awful pile, but somehow, it came across to the good pile when I realized I was using it incorrectly. The manufacturers, I feel, see this as something you could wear when riding, but for me, it’s an off-the-bike bikepacking tool.

The arm bag you put around your wrist and it’s designed to carry items such as your wallet, phone, money, keys, and so on. It can be annoying when riding, but as something to keep valuables in while shopping, it is ideal.

This is perfect for ultra cycling. You could keep all your valuables in, quickly grab it from the frame bag, run into the shop, buy what you need, and run out without juggling or losing anything. It’s very different, but keeping goods safe when shopping is useful.

The Bad TikTok Cycling

Now, for the bad and many, I couldn’t determine if they were genius or not ideal. I’ll let you decide!

Finger Torch

A cycling hand glove.

When I bought this, I didn’t think it would be amazing either, but giving products a chance is important. The finger torch is a half glove which you wear with lights in. It’s designed for when you need to work on your bike at night or in the dark.

Although looking incredibly handy, it was a loose fit, and unfortunately, the lights were dull. Even if it had been bright, it just didn’t really help in any way, shape, or form. It’s not an item I would recommend and is pretty useless for bikepacking.

Disc Brake Lock

A disc brake bike lock.

The disc brake lock I had very high hopes for but when it got here, I thought about how I would use it, and it went down in my estimation. On the surface, it looks great, throw it on your bike, and nobody can ride off.

Originally made for motorbikes, they have brought this across to cycling, but it isn’t going to work the same. The problem is that someone could just lift your bike up and walk off with it. Honestly, I think you’re better off with a small cable lock instead from TikTok cycling shop.

Horn Light

A cycling light with a horn from TikTok Shop.

Finally, we have the horn light! This front bike light doubles as a horn and even has a remote button. The concept is fantastic, a horn and a light together, but in reality, it won’t do you too many favors.

The light is not so bright, and being battery-powered, you can’t recharge it unless you use rechargeable batteries. The horn is very loud, and I found myself upsetting people on cycle paths. It’s a lovely idea, but a better light and quieter horn would be better.

Should You Buy Cycling Goods From TikTok Cycling Shop?

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m not disappointed with my experience. All this came to around $15, and honestly, the headtorch alone is worth that. There are a few bits I will actually add to my kit.

Some of it wasn’t amazing, but I did go for some wacky items that I wouldn’t have bought if I had seen them on a cycling website. I just wanted to make the article more interesting. Overall, I’m pretty happy and will return to TikTok Cycling Shop.
